Program Description

Advance Your Career with Our Trained Medication Aide (TMA) Course!

Take the next step in your healthcare career with our 48-hour Trained Medication Aide (TMA) course! Designed for certified nursing assistants (CNAs), this hybrid course prepares you to safely administer medications in long-term care and assisted living settings.

Course Highlights:

  • Flexible Learning Options: Choose from day, evening, or weekend classes.

  • Hybrid Format: Includes online coursework and in-person lab training.

  • Hands-On Practice: Skills demonstrated in a supervised lab setting.

  • Comprehensive Curriculum: Covers medication administration, basic pharmacology, medication safety, ethics, and delegation.

Program Requirements:

  • Must be on the Nursing Assistant Registry.

  • Completion of a Minnesota Department of Health Approved Nursing Assistant Program (documentation required on the first day of class).

  • Must be 18 years or older.

Course Schedule:

  • Day Class: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12 sessions)

  • Evening Class: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12 sessions)

  • Weekend Class: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Bi- Weekly on Saturdays, 7 sessions)

Tuition: $679 (includes tuition, lab fees, and booklet)

Administration Fee: $50

Certification: Upon successful completion, you will receive a Trained Medication Aide Certificate—qualifying you to work as a TMA in Minnesota without needing a state exam.

No Clinical Externship Required: Medication administration test-out is conducted with the instructor.
