About this course
Prime Time Medical Training’s American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course prepares healthcare professionals, first responders, and students in healthcare training programs to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies. The course follows the 2025 American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) and emphasizes hands-on practice and high-quality CPR.
Participants learn and practice high-quality BLS for adults, children, and infants; chest compressions; effective breaths and ventilation; AED use; relief of foreign-body airway obstruction; and high-performance team response.
Important 2025 updates incorporated into the training include revised severe choking care and updated infant CPR techniques. For severe foreign-body airway obstruction, the guidelines call for alternating 5 back blows and 5 abdominal thrusts for adults and children; infant compression technique now uses the heel of one hand or the two-thumb technique, eliminating the former two-finger compression technique.
The instructor-led BLS Provider Course takes approximately 4.5 hours including skills practice and testing under the AHA's standard course configuration. Students who successfully complete all course requirements receive an AHA BLS Provider Course Completion eCard valid for two years.
Ideal for: Nurses • Nursing Assistants • Medical Assistants • Phlebotomists • EMS Professionals • Healthcare Students • Other Healthcare Providers
