About this course
Prime Time Medical Training’s Phlebotomy Technician Program prepares students with the knowledge, technical skills, and hands-on experience needed to safely and confidently perform blood collection procedures in a variety of healthcare settings.
Students learn essential phlebotomy concepts including infection control, patient identification and preparation, venipuncture, capillary collection, specimen labeling and handling, order of draw, safety procedures, professionalism, and effective patient communication. Hands-on training allows students to practice the skills necessary to become comfortable performing blood collection procedures.
The 56-hour program combines classroom instruction with practical skills training. Students complete a minimum of 30 successful venipunctures and 10 successful capillary collections, helping build the confidence and competency needed for entry-level phlebotomy practice.
Graduates are prepared to pursue employment opportunities in settings such as hospitals, clinics, laboratories, physician offices, blood collection centers, and other healthcare facilities. Prime Time Medical Training is listed by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education as a licensed career school offering a Phlebotomy Technician program.
