Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA/CCMA) Program
The Clinical Medical Assistant Program at Prime Time Medical Training is a comprehensive, career-focused training program designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in ambulatory and clinical healthcare settings and for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification examination.
This 480-hour program combines 320 hours of didactic and skills-based instruction with a 160-hour supervised externship, allowing students to develop both the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to support patients and healthcare providers.
Students receive instruction in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, infection control, patient safety, vital signs, patient intake, documentation, electronic health records, pharmacology, medication administration, phlebotomy, capillary collection, EKG procedures, laboratory testing, clinical assisting, professionalism, communication, healthcare systems, and administrative medical office procedures.
Hands-on training is incorporated throughout the program so students can practice and demonstrate essential clinical competencies. Students also complete 30 successful venipunctures and 10 capillary collections as part of their phlebotomy training.
The final portion of the program includes a 160-hour clinical externship, providing students with an opportunity to apply their classroom and laboratory knowledge in a healthcare setting under appropriate supervision.
Throughout the program, students utilize the Hartman Clinical Medical Assistant textbook, supplemental course materials, and NHA CCMA Study Guide and practice resources to reinforce learning and prepare for national certification.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will have developed the foundational knowledge, clinical skills, professionalism, and patient-centered approach necessary to pursue entry-level Clinical Medical Assistant opportunities in physician offices, clinics, urgent care centers, specialty practices, outpatient facilities, and other ambulatory healthcare settings.
